District Offices
In the Amarillo and Wichita Falls district offices, college students may apply for internships for the Fall, Spring, or Summer semester. Although all internships in our offices are unpaid, students gain invaluable work experience. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules, but generally run 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Interns' responsibilities vary. They will be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation, attend local events, contact local officials, conduct in-district research, assist in constituent services (casework), support staff, and potentially staff events such as townhalls. As a result, interns learn about the types of constituent services and how they can help our community. We are currently accepting applications for the Spring 2024 semester.
