Passport Application Help

The U.S. Department of State has witnessed an unprecedented surge in passport applications in 2023. As a result, they have adjusted their processing times to accommodate these demands. Now, the processing times commence on the very day the passport application is received at a passport agency or center.

Currently, regular passport applications take approximately three months to process, while expedited applications can still require up to two months. Timing varies based on the current number of applications being processed.

If you have already applied for your passport but have not received it two weeks prior to your travel date, please contact the Amarillo District Office at (806) 641-5600 for assistance.

If you have yet to apply for your passport but have an international trip scheduled within two weeks, promptly contact the National Passport Information Center at 1 (877) 487-2778 to schedule an appointment.

Applicants are strongly recommended to begin the process as early as possible and refrain from booking international trips until they have received their passports. For any inquiries or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to Congressman Jackson’s staff at the Amarillo District Office.
