WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Ronny Jackson (TX-13) was appointed as Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. This subcommittee is responsible for oversight of the Intelligence Community, any investigative matters related to it, and working to end waste, fraud, or abuse within its operations.
“I am honored to have been selected as the Chairman of the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and want to thank Chairman Rick Crawford for entrusting me with this tremendous opportunity,” said Rep. Jackson. “The work we do will be key in holding the Intelligence Community accountable, safeguarding our national security, and cutting out waste, fraud, and abuse. I look forward to working with the Trump administration to ensure that our intelligence operations are not only efficient but aligned with our unwavering commitment to protect our national security and put America first."
“The mission of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence is to oversee all aspects of the U.S. Intelligence Community (IC),” said Chairman Rick Crawford. “That’s why leading the Oversight and Investigations Subcommittee is such a critically important job. Congressman Jackson’s 25-year career as an officer with the United State Navy, coupled with his experience on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Agriculture Committee, and the House Foreign Affairs Committee make him an exemplary asset to this Committee. I know he will keep a watchful eye on the IC and ensure that it is serving the American people and ensuring our security every day.”
