ANNOUNCEMENT: U.S Service Academies Forum

AMARILLO, TX — The Office of Rep. Ronny Jackson (TX-13) announced it will co-host a forum for high school students who are interested in applying to a U.S. Service Academy. Students are encouraged to attend with a parent or guardian, and no RSVP is necessary. The forum will provide a unique opportunity for prospective applicants to speak with academy representatives, congressional staff, members of the ROTC from surrounding universities, and Department of Defense Medical Examination Review Board representatives.

Prospective service academy applicants, whether they are able to attend the forum or not, are encouraged to make contact with Jackson’s Veterans Affairs Director, Doug Hight, at Douglas.Hight@mail.house.gov or (806) 641-5600.

As a Member of Congress, Jackson can nominate students from Texas’ 13th Congressional District for appointments to the United States Air Force, Naval, Military (West Point), Coast Guard, and Merchant Marine Academies.

Jackson’s co-hosts include Senators John Cornyn and Ted Cruz, in addition to Representatives Lance Gooden (TX-05), Jake Ellzey (TX-06), August Pfluger (TX-11), Kay Granger (TX-12), Jodey Arrington (TX-19), Beth Van Duyne (TX-24), Michael Burgess (TX-26), Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX-30), John Carter (TX-31), Colin Allred (TX-32), Mark Veasey (TX-33), and Van Taylor (TX-03).
