FY2027 MILITARY CONSTRUCTION AUTHORIZATION REQUESTS

As part of the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act, each Member of Congress had the opportunity to submit Community Project Funding requests to the House Armed Services Committee authorizing funding for specific Military Construction projects in their Congressional District. Each Member was allowed to submit a limited number of requests that met strict requirements for qualification under the House Armed Services Committee’s guidelines.

Below is the Community Project Funding request I submitted for the Fiscal Year 2027 cycle. This request supports a project that will benefit Sheppard Air Force Base, located in Texas’ 13th Congressional District. This project will address a critical installation need, is supported by local community leaders, and responsibly allocates federal resources.

To remain transparent with my constituents, I have listed the submission below and certify that I have no personal financial interest in the project.

Project Name: T-7A Ground Based Training System Facility
Project Recipient: Sheppard Air Force Base
Recipient’s Address: 1810 J Avenue, Wichita Falls, Texas 76311, USA
Amount Requested: $49,000,000.00
Purpose of Project: The funding for this project would be used for the development of a new T-7A Ground Based Training System Facility at Sheppard Air Force Base to support the arrival of the new T-7A advanced jet trainer aircraft and its accompanying full training suite, including ground-based simulators and support equipment, to prepare future fighter and bomber pilots at the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) program through both live and simulated environments.
