WASHINGTON — Today, Representative Ronny Jackson (TX-13) led 86 of his Congressional colleagues in sending a letter to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought encouraging the Trump administration to continue prioritizing and advancing the MV-75 Cheyenne program as a critical component of America’s military modernization efforts.

The MV-75 Cheyenne, the U.S. Army’s next-generation Future Long Range Assault Aircraft, is designed to combine the vertical agility of a helicopter with the speed and range of an airplane. The Army has described the aircraft as capable of flying approximately twice as fast and twice as far as current platforms, expanding the Joint Force’s ability to conduct long-range assault, medical evacuation, resupply, and other critical missions in contested environments. 

Final assembly of the MV-75 Cheyenne will take place at Bell Helicopter’s facility in Amarillo. This program will help support skilled manufacturing jobs and strengthen the region’s defense industrial base. 

“The MV-75 Cheyenne represents the kind of transformational capability our warfighters need to meet the challenges of the future battlefield,” said Rep. Jackson. “Our servicemembers deserve the speed, range, survivability, and operational flexibility necessary to accomplish their missions and come home safely. We must continue advancing this critical program to ensure our military has the tools it needs to maintain our technological advantage.”
