Rep. Jackson Announces House Passage of FY26 NDAA

WASHINGTON — Congressman Ronny Jackson (TX-13) announces that the U.S. House of Representative’s passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26 NDAA) yesterday by a vote of 231-196. Through Rep. Jackson’s leadership, numerous provisions were included in the bill that will benefit Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Pantex Plant in Amarillo, and the defense industrial base in Texas’ Thirteenth Congressional District.

"As a retired Navy Admiral, I can tell you the FY26 NDAA is a game-changer for our military readiness and I am especially proud of the provisions I secured to ensure Texas’ Thirteenth Congressional District remains at the forefront of our national defense,” said Rep. Ronny Jackson. “It delivers on President Trump’s Peace Through Strength Agenda by codifying 45 of his executive orders and legislative priorities, driving necessary reforms to our acquisition process, improving quality of life for our servicemembers, and rebuilding a ready, capable, and lethal military that was destroyed under the Biden administration. It also eliminates woke and DEI programs and reestablishes merit-based promotions across the armed forces."

Floor Amendments Sponsored by Rep. Ronny Jackson:

Amendment 163:

  • This amendment strengthens America’s nuclear deterrent by accelerating critical infrastructure projects that will enable the National Nuclear Security Administration to modernize assembly and disassembly operations at the Pantex Plant.

  • At a time when our nation faces growing threats from adversarial nations and the Department of War works to upgrade its nuclear arsenal, we must ensure that the unique production capabilities of the Pantex Plant keep pace to meet the needs of warfighters.

Amendment 164:

  • This amendment lowers the rank of the Attending Physician to Congress to Captain in alignment with the Trump administration’s efforts to update force posture and improve military leadership structure.

  • This reform ensures accountability while prioritizing senior military billets for our men and women in uniform and not for members of Congress. This office must remain focused on delivering impartial, professional medical care, free from political influence.
