WASHINGTON — Representative Ronny Jackson (TX-13), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee’s Intelligence and Special Operations Subcommittee, underscored the vital role of U.S. special operations forces during a recent hearing with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

During the hearing, Rep. Jackson requested information on the Department of War’s plan to strengthen and expand resources for U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). He also highlighted the growing complexity of modern warfare, including threats from near-peer competitors and non-state actors, and stressed the need to fully equip USSOCOM to carry out counterterrorism, irregular warfare, and strategic deterrence operations.
